HUNTER BEEF

Hunter Beef is a leading Australian agribusiness and one of AAAW Group’s premium beef brands. Headquartered in Sydney, Hunter Beef produces and supplies the finest standard of Angus and Fullblood Wagyu beef to domestic and international food importers, distributors and wholesalers as well as Dashang’s key retail outlets at 400 stores in 150 cities across China.

There are four prestigious cattle operations Glenrock Station, Brindley Park, Clear Hills and Oak Park that operate under the Hunter Beef division, with each integrated into AAAW Group’s vast paddock-to-plate supply chain system.

Hunter Beef also spearheads Dashang’s Hunter Beef produce stores;  the only dedicated Australian beef outlet in Northeast China.

As a premium Australian beef producer, we are constantly looking at ways to capture the best genetic traits and advance the quality of our high-performance cattle in every aspect of our supply-chain process.

Working with leading agronomists and pastoral advisory services, we seek to address the efficiencies and sustainability of our natural resources and grazing lands, and integrate good stewardship practices in all aspects of our diverse cattle and farming operations.

In the same way, we also aim to optimise our vast capabilities and provide our external stakeholders and consumers with the finest farm-gate template — one that reflects the pristine environments our cattle are raised in and the rigorous biosecurity and animal welfare practices we maintain throughout the entire production cycle.

Driving further value are the latest digital technologies we use in all aspects of genetic, livestock nutrition and sustainable land management, and the ongoing investments we make to ensure that all expectations are realised. As such, we consistently deliver exceptional flavour, tenderness and marbling scores in every cut of our premium meat and guarantee the delivery of traceable and safe beef.

We have also set the benchmark in rigorous quality assurance procedures of our boxed beef imports to meet the highest certification standards in Australia and China.

Our future goal is to commence with the live export of Angus and Wagyu cattle to China; a move that will strictly follow the regulatory framework of The Australian Standards for the Export of Livestock (ASEL) and The Exporter Supply Chain Assurance System (ESCAS) in all aspects of livestock husbandry and transport, and our custom-built feedlots and processing plant in the north-eastern port city of Dalian.

Through our vertically-integrated sales distribution network and proficient multi-divisional capabilities, we offer lucrative stakeholder partnerships and exclusive market access to over 100 million consumers in China — an exclusive outreach that contributes significantly to local employment and economic opportunities in the communities in which we operate in.

It is an undertaking that will continue to set us apart as a leading Australian beef producer and exporter, and as a trustworthy Australian premium beef brand in China.

KURO KIN WAGYU

Kuro Kin Wagyu is a wholly-owned AAAW Group subsidiary and a leading Australian agribusiness. Located in Scone, in NSW's Upper Hunter Valley, Kuro Kin Wagyu produces and supplies Fullblood Wagyu beef to domestic and international importers, suppliers and wholesalers as well as Dashang's key retail outlets at 300 stores in 150 cities across China.

Since 1996, Kuro Kin Wagyu has developed the best performing marbling genetics in 100% Fullblood Wagyu cattle and is today a major contributor to the Australian Wagyu global beef industry.

Kuro Kin Wagyu also plays a vital role in the overall production of the AAAW Group's properties by being the breeding hub of Fullblood Wagyu cattle.

With a long tradition in stud cattle and beef production that spans over a century, we aim to continue developing the finest Fullblood Wagyu genetics and progeny.

The consistency of our exceptional marbled beef is the result of our dedication and passion. We select the highest-performing Tajima bloodline to create superior marbling and eye quality, but with sufficient infusions of the Shimane and Kedaka lines to capture the perfect frame size, balance, temperament and maternal qualities.

We also employ advanced genetic evaluation technologies [Total Genetic Resource Management |TGRM] along with feedlot and carcass data systems to determine high-intensity feed efficiencies and the enduring quality of our Wagyu beef.

Our pursuit for superior genetics and exceptional quality is also carried through with our Fullblood sires and dam lines, which are free from disease and low inbreeding co-efficiencies.

As a result of our successful breeding program which was pioneered by former Kuro Kin Wagyu owner, Peter Bishop, our premium Australian Wagyu beef production continually delivers the highest and most desirable degree of marbling, tenderness, flavour and texture.

Driving the divisional business-level strategy is our traceable paddock-to-plate sales distribution network which presents stakeholders with full quality control, a vast repository of multidivisional services and exclusive market access to over 100 million consumers in China.

As a trusted Australian food producer and exporter, we also guarantee food security and providence – significant benefits that serve as the cornerstone for ongoing stakeholder opportunities and sustained economic growth.

We equally share the responsibility of upholding Australia’s reputation and legislated practices in the humane treatment and management of livestock. This includes the protection of our Wagyu beef during the transportation process, and at our custom-built feedlots and meat processing plants.

We also set the benchmark in rigorous quality assurance procedures of our boxed beef imports to meet the highest certification standards in Australia and China.

Our intent to commence with live shipments of Wagyu cattle to China and Northeast Asia will equally follow the regulatory framework of The Australian Standards for the Export of Livestock (ASEL) and The Exporter Supply Chain Assurance System (ESCAS).

As an organisation, we are committed to providing the highest standards of premium Wagyu beef and instil the principles of workplace safety and ethical business practices throughout our community.

We are a proud member of the Australian Wagyu Association and work in collaboration with the Meat & Livestock Association [MLA], and other regulatory industry and government bodies.

Kuro Kin Wagyu is managed by Adam Withers, the Group’s Breeding Manager.

TASFRUITS

Tasfruits is a wholly-owned subsidiary of AAAW Group and is one of the largest producers and certified suppliers of stone and pome fruits in Tasmania and China. Headquartered in Sydney, Tasfruits operates Calthorpe Orchard and Miller's Orchard in northern Tasmania's Tamar Valley.

As a premier produce grower of apples, cherries, and pears, our goal is to increase yields and supply to domestic and international wholesalers, and Dashang's extensive retail chains which include 300 stores in 150 cities across China.

To achieve this, we aim to diversify the range of tree fruit crops for successive seasonal harvests and build upon our underlying production assets, climate-resilient horticulture practices, and adaptation responses. This includes monitoring water resources and irrigation systems, safeguarding soil conservation, and investing in the ongoing improvements in husbandry, nutrition, and pest and disease management during the harvest seasons.

Our commitment to food security and quality assurance is equally supported by stringent production procedures.

We further optimise quality standards by conducting routine inspections of our storage and packing facilities, which includes regular microbial and chemical residue testing on random fruit samples. We also carry out system upgrades of our onshore cold treatment facilities to meet all export requirements to China.

As a leading Australian fruit producer, our vast farm-to-plate sales distribution network, and exclusive market outreach contributes to ongoing labour and economic opportunities in the Tamar Valley region. And we invest significantly in our assets, infrastructure, and methods to ensure that expectations are realised.

As such, we help employees build and sustain capabilities through performance management practices, and partner closely with regional sports organisations and Tasmanian youth-led employment programs.

Our approach to improving agricultural production is prioritised through responsible ecological management and organisational processes that drive value for stakeholders.

Additionally, we build upon our natural resource assets by working in collaboration with government agencies, research organisations and affiliated committees on sustainable agricultural initiatives, biosecurity risk management, and other environmental issues.

As an organisation, we are committed to providing the highest standards of quality produce and strive to impart the values of corporate social responsibility and ethical business practices throughout our community.

Tasfruits is managed by Allan Barr, the Group’s GM of Operations.
