– Millers Orchard –

Miller's Orchard is a leading Tasmanian fruit grower, and is a division of Tasfruits. Located in Hillwood in the eastern Tamar Valley region, the orchard supplies premium cherries, apples and pears to regional greengrocers and supermarket chains. Miller's Orchard also operates a renowned fruit mart that is featured on Discover Tasmania's popular Food Trail route.

First established in 1945, Miller's Orchard has enjoyed a long and illustrious history in Tasmania. Spanning four generations of ownership, Miller's Orchard was acquired by AAAW Group in 2017 and continues to act as a key supplier to Woolworths and Coles supermarkets in Tasmania.

Over the past seven decades, we have grown into a modern agricultural operation. Today, as a premium produce grower, we are constantly adapting our tree fruit production to meet the ongoing demand for premium produce from discerning customers globally and domestically.

Comprising 30 hectares of established cherry, apple and peartrees, we have diversified our traditional crops by increasing the range of produce, which now include Red Delicious, Fuji, Granny Smith, Golden Delicious, Sundowner ™, Royal Gala, Pink Lady™, and Jonathan apples along with mature Beurre Bosc, Packham, Corella, Comice and William Bartlett pears

Additionally, we have undertaken new orchard plantings of cherries to meet the strong demand for premium produce.

Following the guiding practices of succession planting, we have optimised high-intensity plantings by extending the harvest window. Our aim is to augment the apple, pear and cherry trees currently in production through optimal planting intervals and ongoing capital  investment in new irrigation technologies and sustainable land management.

– SUSTAINABLE FUTURE –

Our proactive approach also extends to our adaptation responses to climate variability, and natural and biological hazards.

As community leaders, we are affiliated with a range of peak body groups including Apple and Pear Australia Limited (APAL). Each year, we host field and information days in conjunction with APAL to add further value to Tamar Valley's farming community.

Our environment and sustainability practices also follow Tasfruits' exceptional standards of corporate governance in all aspects of land management, quality assurance, and workplace and equal opportunity practices.

Miller's Orchard is managed by Jason Miller who remains one of Tamar Valley's most experienced and noteworthy fruit growers. Our operation includes 15 full-time staff to manage the orchard production and pack house, and over 30 seasonal pickers who are sourced through Youth Futures, a non-profit organisation.
